The final Premier League fixtures of 2025 & the first of 2026 take place this week..

Tuesday night sees Chelsea welcome Bournemouth to Stamford Bridge just 24-days after Maresca’s men visited the Vitality.

It ended goal-less on that occasion but Antoine Semenyo did have the ball in the net before VAR intervened & the Ghanian netted his 9th of the season against Brentford at the weekend.

Strangely, there’s just a solitary fixture on Boxing Day with Manchester United welcoming Newcastle United to Old Trafford.

It’s the final round of Premier League fixtures before Christmas with permutations aplenty at both the top & the bottom..

Saturday lunchtime sees Carabao Cup semi-final pair Newcastle & Chelsea go head-to-head at St James’ Park.

The Magpies overcame Fulham on Wednesday night to book their spot in the League Cup final-4 while the Blues were 3-1 winners over Cardiff on Tuesday.

8 of Newcastle’s last 9 games saw both teams find the back of the net & that trend looks set to continue here.

BOTH TEAMS TO SCORE @ 4/7

At 5:30 on Saturday, Tottenham welcome Liverpool to North London.

Thomas Frank’s side were thumped 3-0 by Nottingham Forest last weekend & the pressure is beginning to mount on the Danish head coach.

Recent meetings between the sides have been goal-laden & 8 of Spurs’ last 9 competitive games saw 3 or more goals so backing another high-scoring affair is probably the sensible play..

Premier League Gameweek 16 Preview

The Premier League title race took a turn last week with Arsenal seeing their lead at the top reduced and the fixtures continue to come thick & fast…

We start at the Bridge when an out-of-sorts Chelsea take on Everton.

The Blues are winless in 4 following a disappointing defeat to Atalanta in the Champions League in midweek & Enzo Maresca will no doubt be looking for a response from his side on Saturday.

The Toffees, on the other hand, recorded back-to-back successes when outclassing Nottingham Forest last weekend. Thierno Barry was on target that day & will be looking to add to his tally today.

Also kicking off at 3 o’clock on Saturday is Liverpool versus Brighton.

Arne Slot’s side recorded a welcome win away to Inter Milan in the Champions League during the week & the Reds have lost just one of the last 11 meetings with the Seagulls at Anfield (W7, D3, L1).

7 of Brighton’s last 11 games saw both teams find the back of the net.

Saturday evening’s entertainment comes from the Emirates where Arteta’s Arsenal take on woeful Wolves.

Monday night’s defeat to Manchester Utd was Rob Edwards’ 4th loss from his first 4 games in charge of the Midlands club & the outlook is certainly bleak to say the least.

Undoubtedly the pick of the action on Sunday afternoon is the Tyne-Wear derby as Sunderland welcome neighbours Newcastle to the Stadium of Light.

Eddie Howe’s side triumphed 3-0 over their North-East rivals in the FA Cup earlier this year & the Magpies extended their recent run of good form to 4 games without defeat with leaving Leverkusen with a point in the Champions League.

Finally, on Monday night Manchester United take on a struggling Bournemouth.

The Cherries are winless in 6 (D2 L4) & Iraola looks set to be without star defender Marco Senesi who was forced off through injury against Chelsea last week.

The Red Devils put 4 beyond Wolves last Monday night & Ruben Amorim’s side seem to be find their attacking edge of late with 10 of their 15 Premier League outings featuring O2.5 goals..

Following an exhilarating midweek round of action which saw no less than 33 goals scored, the Premier League gallops on this weekend..

Kicking things off at 12.30 on Saturday is Aston Villa v Arsenal with Unai Emery set to take on his former employers.

The Villains extended their winning sequence to 6 when edging out Brighton in a 4-3 thriller on Wednesday but a lower scoring fixture looks likely here.

9 of the Gunners’ 14 Premier League fixtures this season have featured less than 3-goals.

UNDER 2.5 GOALS @ 8/11

At 3 o’clock on Saturday, Man City entertain Sunderland at the Etihad.

Pep Guardiola’s side looked imperious for the most part before surviving a late scare against Fulham during the week.

Phil Foden was on target twice on Tuesday with the 25-year old England international notching 4 goals in his last 2 appearances.

The Saturday evening slot sees Leeds United host Liverpool.

Daniel Farke’s side turned the formbook on its head when overcoming Chelsea in midweek and the Whites will need to be somewhere near their best again.

The pick of Sunday sees Brighton welcome West Ham to the South-Coast.

The Hammers remain engulfed in the dreaded relegation zone despite rescuing a point at Old Trafford on Thursday & are unlikely to trouble their hosts who have a decent home record this season (P7 W4 D2 L1).

BRIGHTON @ 11/20

Finally, on Monday woeful Wolves take on Manchester United as they attempt to add to their 2-point tally.

Defeat to Forest last Wednesday was Rob Edwards’ side's 7th defeat in succession.

The Red Devils have failed to keep a clean sheet in any of their last 12 away league games, conceding 24 goals in that time.
